Our Construction Process is Simple yet Thorough.
You have decided you are ready to move forward with your construction project, you have your design ideas, you have researched materials you like, but what are the next steps in the construction process? After you have selected RL Construction as your builder, we roll up our sleeves and get to work.
On-Site Consultation – First things first, we will come out to your property to discuss your project with you. We want to get a feel for your space and the types of changes you would like to incorporate. If you are already working with an architect or designer, we would like to meet with them as well. Upon reviewing your plans for the specifics, we make suggestions that may improve flow, conserve costs, or add something special you hadn’t thought of previously. If you don’t have a set of plans yet, we will recommend one of our preferred architects that match your style.
Project Scope and Budget – After the architectural plans have been finalized and materials have been selected, we will prepare a firm budget that includes purchasing all of the materials on your behalf and labor for all facets of the work. If you need help with material selections, we would be happy to assist you. From there, we will prepare a construction schedule that works with your timeline and a communications plan to keep you informed every step of the way.
Construction – Prior to construction, all city permits will be obtained on your behalf. If the project is a remodel, the renovation area will be prepped for demolition. We will have you remove all of your personal belongings from the area and ensure that plastic sheeting seals off the area to keep dust and debris out of your living space. A staging area for large supplies that will be delivered during the construction process will be setup. And then you can watch as your new room comes to life. Working from the foundation up, we handle everything your project will need – all electrical and plumbing, insulation, drywall and painting, flooring and windows, lighting, cabinets, counters, trim, and appliances.
Satisfaction Guarantee – As the construction process nears completion, we will walk through the new rooms with you to develop a punch list for last minute items that need extra attention prior to finalizing the job. Once we receive your final approval, we will provide you with all warranties and instructions for operating your new toys.
